Refugee Week 2009

The project has participated in, and exhibited Refugee Stories at, different refugee week celebration events in London.


Refugee Stories sat a stall at Celebrating Sanctuary in South Bank on 15th June 2009.

Refugee Stories Project held an exhibition at 'Different Pasts, Shared Future' Refugee week celebration in Islington Central Library on 18th June 2009.  In this Event a lot of people from different communities, Voluntary sectors and Schools attended. 

Refugee Stories Project had a show case at the Big Impact event on 19th June 2009, which was organised by Evelyn Oldfield Unit. More then 100 people from different Migrant and Refugee Community Organisations, Voluntary organisations, funders such as Heritage Lottery Fund and City Parochial Foundation, and those who had taken part in the first phase of project attended this event.

Refugee Stories held an Exhibition in Trafalgar Square at Amnesty International rally to mark international Refugee day on 20th June 2009. The rally which started in Embankment ended with speeches by different speakers such as Kate Allen, director of Amnesty International UK; Jeremy Corbyn MP; Maurice Wren, director of Asylum Aidl; Donna Covey, director of the Refugee Council and many others.
