This lesson aims to conclude the unit of work by raising pupils' awareness of the valuable contributions refugees make to their host countries, in particular cultural and social contributions. As a starter activity, pupils will find out about celebrities who come from a refugee background.
They will then work in groups, using the stories of individual refugees, to plan and present a television-style report, highlighting the achievements of the individuals. This will lead to a research activity about the contributions, past and present, made by other refugees to the UK.
