The Eritrean refugee community in London has a unique history to tell about their historical connections with London, the important contributions they make to London, and how London influenced the destiny that made them refugees.
The Eritrean refugee community has been here for the last 60 years, since the early 1940s. There is not yet an exact census of their numbers but it is estimated to be around 20,000 in total. Of these, approximately 17,000 live in London.
