About
Bosnian Resource Information Centre Kosovar Support (BRICKS)
The aim of BRICKS is to relieve poverty and promote health amongst people who are or were refugees and asylum seekers from the former Yugoslavia by the provision of (in their mother tongue) advocacy, counselling, education and training, advice and information about health, welfare, housing and other social benefits.
Many of the refugees associated with BRICKS have now lived in London for over 10 years, whereas Kosovans arrived more recently. Each and every individual refugee makes a contribution in some way to London. For example, some share time and skills with the community and have gone on to win awards and public recognition for their volunteering, others train to work in the fields of medicine and education.
Others have gone on to publish books or write music and films. Others take part in partnership work with other communities or campaign for justice and human rights or help empower other refugees to participate in London life.
