I worked for around seven years.

Q: Seven years.

The factory yes, not in the same factory, you know. I worked in a factory for a time and then I did something else, but then again I went back to the factory and but all in all I work around seven years in the factory yeah. I learnt to--, to--, the ironing trade, you know the--, well it sounds simple but in fact it isn't. When you're in the factory you have to be very quick, and you have to press cloths, thousands you know in a day, so it's very hard you know. It is a very hard experience, to be honest, yeah.

Q: Yeah, what is it that you didn't like when you were there?

When we was--, we worked too much, too many hours and we had no choice, we had to accept it, we had to work twelve hours every day and then we had to work on weekends as well, on Saturdays. We didn't like it as well. We were told that you know that it's better--, it was better to find somewhere else to work you know. But with the responsibilities and you have to pay your studies, you have to pay, you know, rent and your bills so it was very hard to do it.

Q: And you managed to save money to buy something with that?

Not much, not really.

Q: No?

Not really, it was only when my wife started working, that we could really you know save--, we could afford to buy things, you know, for the house, you know-the most important things, you know, the basic things, you know. But before it was just a matter of survival you know.
